At the Olivier Awards 2023, the Almeida Theatre won six awards across three productions. The winners were announced at a ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 2 April.
Associate Director Rebecca Frecknall’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire was named Best Revival, with awards also going to Paul Mescal for Best Actor, and Anjana Vasan for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
Will Keen took home the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Peter Morgan’s Patriots.
For their performances in our new musical Tammy Faye, Katie Brayben won Best Actress in a Musical, and Zubin Varla for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical.
As a registered charity, the Almeida Theatre relies on the generosity of our supporters to make brave work that provokes, inspires and entertains. A £100,000 cut to our Government funding, alongside our post-pandemic recovery, has had a significant impact on our finances. Support us now to secure the Almeida’s role as the UK’s leading producing theatre and deliver the world-class work for which we are known and loved.
